Mite Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider helping! Our program depends on volunteers, and we almost always have too few rather than too many. If you're interested or have questions, please contact your coach or email mites@ryha.com.

Team Parent (1 per team)

Help create a fun and welcoming team environment while assisting with team communication and events.

Responsibilities:

• Help recruit volunteers for team activities and future events.
• Build team camaraderie and friendships.
• Organize optional activities such as:
• Pizza parties
• Movie nights
• Grizzlies games
• Other team gatherings

Snack Coordinator (1 per team)

After practices and games, many players enjoy a snack as a reward for their hard work. This is optional and handled at each team's discretion.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate snack volunteers for practices and games.
• Ensure snack dates are covered in advance.
• Communicate with families regarding sign-ups.

Outdoor Hockey Day Committee (3–5 volunteers)

Help make one of RYHA's favorite events a success!

Responsibilities:

• Recruit volunteers for event day.
• Assist with:
• Fire pit supervision
• Equipment transportation
• General event setup and support

With enough volunteers, we can add even more fun, including:

• Music
• Skating races
• Wacky awards
• Additional activities for players and families

Net Transportation Volunteers (2 volunteers with trucks)

Assist with moving two intermediate nets between Graham Arena and the Recreation Center.

Dates:

• Holiday Game (December)
• Supermite All-Star Game (February)

Game Clock & Music Operators (3 per team)

Support game-day operations during regular games and Jamborees.

Responsibilities:

• Run the game clock.
• Play music using a phone connection available in the penalty box.
• Announce player names during medal presentations at Jamborees.

Website Parent (1 per team)

Help keep the team webpage updated.

Responsibilities:

• Post schedules and team information.
• Share announcements and special events.
• Work with coaches, who will provide the necessary information.

Off-Ice Practice Assistants (1–4 per team)

Provide valuable support to coaches before and after practices and games.

Responsibilities:

• Help set up and store equipment.
• For Supermite and older teams, assist with mini-board setup and takedown.
• Share game clock duties among a group of volunteers to make the task easier for everyone.
